I am trying to get back into shape and considering joining a gym. I was wondering if I can get some opinions first of those who go to golds and those who go to the gym on base? I've never been to either so... What does a membership at golds cost?  

I can't tell you the price of golds. I went there and loved it. I really like the classes plus childcare is included. I havnt been on base but I can nearly guarantee golds is better. I think it's convenience over quality for me. After this pregnancy ( he'll in embryo) I might go on base just because it's closer. But might go back to golds because of the childcare offered when my husband deploys. I think the decessions are based on needs as well as wants. If golds was across th street I'd say golds. 

Does anyone know the price of golds? I go to slocum normally. Tomorrow is day 1 of gyming it up while hubby is deployed.So we;ll see how she does in the little room there....... 

Depends on what you sign up for. Golds had a $200 sign up when I went and then I said I cant pay that much went down to $65.(Still in my opinion a lot of money and $40 a month.) So Id stick with local ones unless you have a little one the day care is free if you join but certain hours.Someone on here knows more.:) 

Normally pricing at golds is 19.99 a month.. I think the enrollment fee is $169?? but dont qoute me on that one.. They do automactic drafting for payment from your bank account.. They also have a 29.99 a month plan I think with no enrollment fee?? I'll have to ask.. I'll call Tim today and see if there are any specials, etc right now.. But if you go over to the gym, ask for Tim and tell him Crystal sent ya.. ;) I love Gold's I have been a member since 2002 and I wouldnt use any other gym (unless I was on vacation and there wasnt a Gold's in the area.. Gold's gives you a travel though if you travel and there is a Golds in your area) 

I go to Gold's...sometimes. I don't remember what the enrollment fee was but I pay 29.99/mo. Hubby pays 39.99 cuz he got the tanning package too. I love Mickey, the day care lady. That's one big reason we joined, so the girls would be watched while I worked out. But your child can't go to the child care till he/she is 6 mo old. 

Well its gorgeous outside and we did invet in a jogging stroller so i might just take it out for a walk today. Gotta start slow right? 

thanks guys. my daughter is 3 so no problem with the daycare. I just really need to get back into shape! ha ha I've been walking and working out at home but not seeing results I want. I would go to the gym on base but for some reason I'm not very comfortable going there.:/

I wouldn't mind doing a daily walk. Maybe not in the morning tho, i was worried the whole time my daughter would get sunburnt lol

well considering I'm a stay at home mom and my daughter loves to sleep...we usually aren't up before 10...lol Have been walking around 4 when she gets up from her nap. 

im also in slocum, and im not a morning person. I'd probably have to walk around 6ish.
