no Michael Jackson did a LOT of questionable sht and I for one, do not want my kids looking up to THAT. He was a great musician, but he was a lousy person!

Those rumors were started because he was such an extreme person to begin with. All that plastic surgery he had gave him what people thought, were facial features of a white person. So, when he started turning lighter and lighter, every assumed he was trying to be white.

And I don't believe that he touched those kids because if it had been one of MY kids- no amount of money in the WORLD could keep me from putting him in prison. Those parents walked away at the first offer of money and I think he always KNEW it was money they were after so he paid them off. Second- I don't really believe in black history month either. His "kids" aren't all white. He MARRIED A WHITE WOMAN. If she had 2 kids that weren't by him, he was MARRIED to her and probably adopted them. Wow.

Ummm... just because you say you would act differently, doesn't mean it didn't happen. It would then just mean that those kids parents were complete losers... I would never let MY kids go spend the night at some adults house... So, I disagree right off the bat with their parental skills... I certainly wouldn't put it past them to accept a large sum of money in exchange for silence. However, molestation charges aside, the guy was NO role model. He was a crazy. 

I am reading this in shock. I have 2 children who are of mixed heritage... they are black, white and a lil bit of american indian. Does this mean b/c they are mixed I am not proud of my "whiteness"? I didn't know that the ppl we choose to have children with and LOVE means we aren't who we are or that we are tryin to change it b/c we dislike it for ourselves. So please ELABORATE where u were goin with that? I know that ignorance is bliss, but honestly! Michael Jackson, regardless if he bleached his skin or not, was rich or poor, a secretive man or a perv, was a BLACK man and so therefore... he is a HUGE part of Black History!! I see ppl sayin he didn't wanna be black and he did this and he did that... do u realize how many ppl of ALL races are in history and get honored who did STUPID things? For cryin out loud, we still celebrate Columbus Day here and anyone who has any bit of an education knows that Christopher Columbus DID NOT discover America!! Now as for his disease, vitiligo... my kids father has this and got it when he came back from serving in war times so I am not sure how it works or what, b/c military Dr's tried to swear it was eczema for the longest time. I can understand why Michael Jackson would want to even out. Kevin is teased and tormented at work (civil service) by blacks, whites and any other race b/c ppl are so ignorant to his conditions and him as a person. So to read that ppl are judging another person, even IF it is Michael Jackson, who was a pop ICON (who cares if some of us disagree to that title)... it is extremely sad. On one hand, I like Black History month... but on the other hand, I don't. I like that my kids have the opportunity to learn about the struggles that black people have gone through in this country. However, I do think they could teach our kids about black history scattered throughout the year, like the rest of history. What I really dislike about black history month is that my 5 yr old literally spends the entire month learning about the history of black people in this country, but the rest of the school year, history is skipped completely. If they aren't going to have history/social studies for kindergartners, then my 5 yr old should spend 6 weeks learning about black history either. THAT is discrimination, imo. 

However, molestation charges aside, the guy was NO role model. He was a crazy. my kids LOVE his music, his dancing, his videos. And I love that they enjoy someone I enjoyed as a child. Obviously my children do not watch news shows or read about the "crazy" some people believe he was involved in. I LOVED M.J. and will continue to, as will my kids I'm sure. Hell, I am crazy and they love me still. Doesn't make me a pedophile, or psycho. lol.
